Elementary Algebra

Designed to prepare students for intermediate algebra, this course teaches simplifying algebraic expressions involving polynomials and rational terms; factoring; solving linear equations; solving quadratic and rational equations using factoring; analyzing graphs of linear equations; and solving applied problems.

Instructor notes: Students enrolled in this online/hybrid class are required to complete course studies and assignments online.  Course work to be completed online includes watching videos, completing homework assignments and completing quizzes. Tests and the Final Exam are given on-campus at the Academic Proctoring Center during scheduled testing windows.

Approximately two weeks before the semester begins and again the weekend before classes start on January 22, you will receive an email with information about how to purchase access and log into the course website, MyMathLab, where you will find all course materials. This email will be sent to your email address on record in SURF. 

MyMathLab will be available for enrollment on Monday, January 8, 2018. The required Online Orientation and all assignments due during the first three weeks of the semester will open on Monday, January 8, 2018. All assignments except for tests and the Final Exam must be done online at MyMathLab. 

By the close of the first day of class, Monday, January 22, 2018, you must log onto MyMathLab AND complete the required orientation that you will find there or you will be dropped from the class and your place given to another student.
